Homemade Ham and Cheese Scones at O’Flaherty’s Londis-Dingle

Building on the success of her home-made scones and muffins, resident baker at O’Flaherty’s Londis-Dingle, Mary Fitzgerald, is delighted to launch her new range of Ham & Cheese Scones. At the moment, these tasty treats are only available on Sunday mornings and the feedback so far has been very positive. Mary makes the scones herself instore adding Mature Kerry Cheddar and our Home-Baked Honey Mustard Ham. The result is a tasty savoury treat; delicious at breakfast, lunch, dinner or a late supper. At a mere 65c per scone, its a nutritious, tasty snack and there are no artficial colours or preservatives. Our reccommendation is to enjoy a Ham & Cheese scone with a cup of freshly ground Piacetto Espresso Coffee also available instore. Each cup is brewed using Italian roasted coffee beans and at only €2, its an affordable indulgence. Cappuccino, Mocha, Latte and Hot Chocolate are also available.

Fruit and Whole Wheat Scones are baked daily instore by Mary along with a range of home-made Double Chocolate Chip, Coffee & Walnut, Pear, Apple & Almond and Blueberry Muffins. Londis-Dingle is open Monday-Saturday from 6.30am – 10.30pm and Sundays and Bank Holidays from 8am – 10.30pm.

Why not call in and grab a cup of our delicious coffee? At Londis Dingle you can enjoy Piacetto Espresso. Italian roasted beans are ground to deliever a delicious coffee everytime. Choose from Americano (Black Coffee), Cappuccino, Latté or Café Mocha. Hot Chocolate, made using freshly steamed milk, is always available. At €2 for a 12oz cup, this is one indulgence we can all enjoy. Fresh coffee is available from 6.30am Monday-Saturday and from 8am on Sunday’s and Bank Holidays, allowing you to get your morning cup-of-joe as early as possible!

Mary Fitzgerald, our resident baker at O’Flaherty’s Londis-Dingle, was busy this evening perfecting the recipe for her delicious Pear & Almond Muffins. A batch has been baked up and is selling now in the shop for an amazing €1.35 each. Many will have never tasted a muffin created from scratch, free from artifical preservatives and additives. Mary’s muffins contain pears, almonds, cinnamon, butter, sugar, flour, milk & baking powder. Mary is also busy preparing Blueberry Muffins and Double Chocolate Chip Muffins – watch out for them in store at Siopa Londis Uí Fhlaithearta this week.

Our resident baker, Mary Fitzgerald, has been whipping up a storm in the kitchen at O’Flaherty’s Londis-Dingle lately. Her home-made scones have become a major hit – every day she combines the best ingredients (flour, eggs, butter, fruit & sugar) to create her delicious scones. The difference is the this; 9/10 shops, whether or not they claim otherwise, buy in their scones, either fresh or frozen. Then it’s a proecess of re-heating a frozen scone. At O’Flaherty’s Londis-Dingle, Mary makes her own scones everyday, baking them from scratch. Pop into the shop at any time and you’ll get the smell from the oven!
